Intimidad con Dios Church Fremont  - Carlos & Anabelle Grijalva

Intimidad con Dios church (aka ICD) started with 4 people with a heart to serve the Lord within the Spanish speaking community. Pastor Carlos and his wife Anabelle started with a home Bible study in Hayward and God brought 2 more families from Fremont. In the beginning of 2016 the couple met Josh and Cecil Wroten and were able to rent a space at Grace Church. Through that connection, Carlos and Anabelle were introduced to Compassion Network. Through the years, ICD helped many low-income and hurting families specifically within the Hispanic community. 

During 2020, Anabelle began working with Compassion Network during the pandemic.

Since then, Intimidad con Dios has hosted Hearty Harvest, Joyful Bounty and a backpack drive for the families within their Spanish speaking church community. Some of their congregants are clients of Compassion Network! So ICDsaw a need,  responded and provided for those needs. That connection has grown over the years as Carlos and Anabelle continue to nurture these relationships. 

Here are some of their stories: 

• A single mom of four came to a Hearty Harvest event last year. ICD was there to not only provide her a bag of groceries, but was able to connect emotionally and spiritually with the mother. The mother found a community that she could be a part of. She eventually came to a women’s breakfast and by nurturing the relationship, she is now a disciple of Christ. 

• A young man had a girlfriend who had cancer. ICD pastors prayed for healing and miraculously God healed her! From that day forward, the young man accepted Christ! He continued to be discipled by Carlos and Anabelle and today he is leading a bible study at the church!

Intimidad con Dios Church, Fremont, though small in number, has made inroads into the lives of the Hispanic community. Through perseverance they are paving the way to make disciples of Christ!
