Lighthouse Bible Fellowship
Lighthouse Bible Fellowship Church began gathering as a small Bible study since 1994. Under the leadership efforts of Pastor Ken Strom, the primary planter and founder of LBF, the modest Bible study grew into a community of Christians that, by God’s grace, came to occupy 280 Mowry Ave. in Fremont, CA, back in 1998.
Since then, LBF has established herself as a Christ-centered church, focused on exegetical Bible preaching, emphasizing the grace of the gospel message appealing to a broadly evangelical body of families from diverse cultural backgrounds.
In 2020, Pastor Ken Strom retired from ministry, and due to the local restrictions regarding Covid-19, LBF moved to a predominantly online gathering format. In 2022, LBF called Dr. Craig D. Greatman, to lead LBF into the “post covid” era. Pastor Greatman, along with his wife, Lisa, are California natives who’ve invested the last 14 years serving and planting churches, in various locations around the US.
Over the past 18 months Pastor Greatman, Lisa, and their two daughters have been reacquainting themselves with all the dynamics of being back in the ever-transforming bay area, and helping to reestablish LBF as a flourishing, gospel-centered, Reformed church.
With a heart for evangelism and a passion for educating children, LBF now hosts a burgeoning Classical Conversations homeschool co-op, enjoys thriving missional communities that gather mid-week in parishioners homes, and has plans to reopen their Solid Rock Café beginning in late October or early November, 2023. LBF gathers on Sunday mornings at 10:30AM. Dr. Greatman, affectionately called “PC,” teaches the Reformed doctrines of grace, in a conservative, exegetical style, covering books of the Bible in their entirety. As a former homeless substance abuser and US. Army veteran, Pastor Greatman brings a unique blend of compassion and understanding of the human condition of fallen man, coupled with soul piercing biblical truth to the body of Christ.
With a view towards ensuring a biblically faithful church that will remain strong for not only their daughters, but the next generation of Christians in the tri-cities region, Pastor Greatman, along with the LBF forever family are excited about growing with those who desire to take The Great Commission seriously.
