Boost Tutor Volunteer: Pastor Dave Chiolero

This is Pastor Dave’s 2nd session tutoring at Boost. He wanted to help students that needed help in school. He enjoys getting to know the kids and their families. Pastor Dave was Flossie’s tutor and they enjoyed their time together getting at Boost. He is planning to tutor again next year.

Student: Flossie Hendon

Grade: 5th grade

Years at Boost: This is her 3rd year

Flossie’s grandmother enrolled her in Boost to help her with her schoolwork. She said she liked being in Boost because she gets help doing her homework, she loves the snacks and she has made new friends. Flossie also loves to play the games and eat Chick-Fil A at the year end celebration.

Parent: Beverley Hendon, grandmother

Beverly signed up Flossie for Boost to help her with her homework and motivation to do her work. She said being in an environment where all the students are working and engaged to their work, motivates Flossie. She is able to focus and stay on task with the special help from the tutor. It helps her finish her homework. She is sad that she won’t be able to continue next year since she’ll be going to middle school.
