Churches Partnering together to make a difference
At the request of a high school student from Tree of Life Lord’s Harvest Christian Church, a church group decided to pursue the opportunity to partner with Compassion Network so they could be a blessing to a neighbor by providing a lending hand.
They were introduced to the home of Mrs. Humrick who did not have the means to clean up her back yard. It seemed like a lot of work for a small team, but they gladly committed, hoping and praying for the opportunity to help.
A friend from Forerunner Christian Church called and asked to join alongside the team of volunteers. With two churches partnering together, they now had more than enough help!
The day of the service event, everyone showed up on time and looking forward to getting their hands in action. After a few instructions and assigning people into teams, everyone jumped into action. It took several people taking turns to really mow down the heavy brush, but with more volunteers, the team was successful!
Thanks to the prepared volunteers, the team had all the tools needed to cut the overgrown grass as well as trim a couple of overgrown bushes, tree branches, and a phoenix palm tree. Everyone got a chance to try their hand at different jobs, getting to know each other and enjoying the opportunity to serve together.
All in all, it was a blessing to be able to help one of our neighbors while working alongside a team of volunteers. The two churches look forward to the next time they can come together to serve others!
