A Meal Sponsored in Love

Feeding the Homeless

Lisa and her two children are among the various volunteers who serve at Compassion Network’s weekly Soup Talk. (Soup Talk is a volunteer-run ministry that serves the homeless community in the Tri-Cities by offering free weekly lunches.)

As a young student attending Mission College, Michelle was inspired to raise money to feed the homeless in her own way. She posted on Instagram asking friends and family to donate $5 for each meal. She even itemized each item of need so donors knew what it would cost to feed the homeless. With about 80 followers on her Instagram account, Michelle was able to raise $600! With the generosity of her friends and family, she is now able to supply meals for the rest of the year for our Soup Talk ministry!

God has given her a vision that one day she will have a food truck where she can use donations to provide the homeless with meals continuously. God had additionally placed a special verse in her heart that confirmed this hope.

I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread. Psalm 132:15

It’s the personal touch

Michelle even writes a message and the name of the person that donated on each meal box and posts it on her Instagram, so the donors can see how their donation contributed in making each meal box possible. Now her whole family is helping Michelle put the meal boxes together!

Supporting Michelle

We are so excited to see her using her gifts to love and care for those in need and to bring glory to God. Michelle posts on Instagram with an offer to join her in feeding the homeless for Compassion Network.
